Google will restrict free usage of a very popular service, Google photos; The company will start charging for a storage once 15GB is consumed by a user after 1st of June 2021. The policy change only applies to new photos and videos that are uploaded after June 1, 2021; so, anything uploaded before then won’t count against your storage quota. Not only that google also had a policy of deleting data from accounts that is not logged in for more than 2 years.
There google photos already used to give 15GB storage for a photo in original quality before. After that the user should have to pay. But for storing high quality photos, google used to compress those photos and give unlimited storage. It was the photo service where you just didn’t have to worry about how much storage you had. Because of this feature google photos popularity had increased in last 5 years.
The policy will not hamper Pixel owners. They can still upload photos in high quality (not original) after June 1st.
