Facebook to bring audio and video calls back to its main app

On Monday, Facebook announced to bring audio and video calls back to its mainstream app . The social media giant spun out Messenger from its main app years ago, meaning users would have to download a separate app in order to send messages and make calls.

This feature was removed officially by Facebook in 2014 from its main app. Before that users were able to send messages to other Facebook users with the main app.

The change is considered “just a test” and can already be seen by a small group of users in several countries, including the US. Although audio and video calls are coming back to the Facebook app, text chat should remain available exclusively in the Messenger app for now. Therefore for full-featured messaging, audio, and video call experience, people should continue using Messenger.
